Here are some songs I’ve written and recorded.
Blue Hop is a blue-jazzy piece I wrote and recorded with lots of guitar embellishments. Sometimes you need a horn player to tell the guitarist, “Hey, enough already. Stop playing so much. :-)”
Give & Take is a tune I wrote and recorded with The Slam, my old college rock band, for our 25-year reunion.
Tomorrow Never Knows is a Beatles tune from the Revolver album. I spiced it up with lots of backing vocals. It features a slide guitar solo that weaves in the theme from Jimi Hendrix’ Third Stone From The Sun.
Give It Back is a song I wrote about the great North Pacific gyre, a garbage patch about three times the size of Texas! Your mother was right when she said, “Clean up your mess.”
I love performing on guitar and piano! Here are a few blissful moments:
Hi Dennis & Pam
not sure if you remember us but we had dinner with you guys & Mark & Robyn in La Paz one night. They had mentioned your blog,so I dialed it up today. Excellent writing by both of you. But more importantly to me was the excellent guitar work Dennis. I have slowly & Painfully[i do love it,sucker for punishment I guess] been teaching myself for the last year. I have been playing a wicked good Air Guitar for almost 61 years figured I should try & get the real thing done as I was about to have alot more time on my hands.Very inspiring [& discouraging].Not sure where you are now but hope we run into you again & possibly you could mentor me a bit.We just got to Punta Mita yesterday & will head to La Cruz anchorage manana. We will be around Bandreas Bay for next month as my sister & brother in law arrive from NYC in 3 days for 3 weeks.
If we do not see you Happy Trails/Sails
